The Intact Family Service Program aims to keep Latino families together, or intact, who are identified as “at risk” of separation by DCFS for child abuse and or neglect. This program is designed to assure the safety and well-being of children by assisting families to meet minimum parenting standards, and by stabilizing and supporting families to enable children to remain with their families whenever possible.
Arden Shore conducts a comprehensive assessment of the family’s problems, develops a service plan for the family, and provides counseling, home habilitation, family advocacy, mentoring and support. Specific activities conducted in the provision of services are: home visits; individual, family and/or marital counseling; substance abuse and domestic violence screenings and counseling if necessary; child risk assessments; child development screenings; parenting and anger management classes; and referrals to access medical, dental, housing, educational and financial resources.
